Meet the Team
Maddie
North of Ordinary was founded by Maddie, a street medic, community educator, creative, passionate activist, and registered nurse.
Maddie is the founder of a street medic training organization in San Francisco, where she has led classes in community first aid, protest-specific care, and a bridge program helping healthcare professionals transition into street medicine.
Her work is rooted in years of involvement in activist spaces, including environmental conservation and social justice movements, where she has seen how practical skills and collective care can strengthen communities.
Her background as a film photographer and creator of poorly-executed art of various mediums brings a gentle creative touch to the collective.
Lucas
Lucas is a parkour coach, movement educator, photographer, videographer, and community organizer whose work sits at the intersection of physical practice and collective care. With a background in coaching and program development, he has spent years supporting young people in building confidence, resilience, and a sense of agency through movement.
He has developed an integrative parkour and gymnastics program specifically for children with special needs, creating adaptive, supportive environments where all bodies are welcomed and challenged in ways that honor their individual strengths. His approach is rooted in patience, creativity, and a deep respect for each person’s capacity to grow.
Beyond coaching, Lucas is actively involved in community support and mutual aid efforts, bringing a values-driven approach to everything he does. At North of Ordinary Collective, he assists with workshop facilitation and plays a key role in behind-the-scenes operations, helping bring ideas to life and ensuring things run smoothly.
Grounded, thoughtful, and deeply committed to community, Lucas brings both skill and care to the spaces he helps build.
