ORGANIZATION MEMBERSHIP
Make space for the work that matters.
Organization Memberships are for nonprofits, collectives, activist groups, mutual-aid projects, creative organizations, neighborhood groups, and other people doing good work in the world who want a place to do it.
Your organization helps sustain NOO as shared community infrastructure. In return, your people become part of NOO too.
Your members get the benefits of NOO membership, including coworking and open-lounge access 7 days a week outside scheduled events, and a place to connect with the wider NOO community.
Your organization gets recurring space to gather, organize, create, teach, share food, and build relationships.
Organization membership is a way to invest directly in the community infrastructure that makes connection, organizing, creativity, and collective action possible.
YOUR ORGANIZATION. YOUR PEOPLE. YOUR SPACE.
Organization Membership gives your people more than somewhere to hold a meeting.
Your members become NOO members.
They get:
Coworking + open-lounge access
A place to work, write, plan, make phone calls, or just get out of the house. NOO is open for members to use 7 days a week outside scheduled events.
NOO community membership benefits
Your people get access to the same community membership benefits that come with an individual NOO membership, including member pricing and access to community programming.
A community beyond your organization
Your people become part of a wider network of artists, organizers, neighbors, and people who believe community is something we actually have to build.
And your organization gets recurring space for the work you're already doing.
Meetings. Workshops. Trainings. Community dinners. Planning sessions. Skill shares. Art nights. Fundraisers. Mutual aid.
Or whatever else you come up with.
We don't want to tell you what community work is supposed to look like.
We just want to make sure you have somewhere to do it.

WE'RE NOT COUNTING HEADS.
These numbers are guidelines, not a membership bureaucracy. Your membership is for the people actively involved in your work, and we're trusting you to use the space reasonably.
That's how we want to operate: with trust.
If your organization doesn't fit neatly into a level, talk to us.
CAN'T AFFORD IT?
We get it. A lot of the organizations we want at NOO are running on shoestring budgets, volunteer labor, and sheer determination.
If $95/month isn't realistic, talk to us. We'll see what we can figure out.
As an anti-capitalist space, the point is to make more room for people to do the work, not create another barrier or profit from organizers.
WHY THIS EXISTS
NOO is small on purpose. We're building a real piece of community infrastructure: somewhere organizers can meet, mutual-aid groups can feed the community, collectives can plan, and people can work alongside each other.
When your organization joins NOO, you're not just paying for a few hours in a room. You're helping keep the room here for the next meeting, workshop, community dinner, connection, or radical idea that turns into something bigger.
Invest in the spaces you want to see thrive.
LET'S MAKE SOME SPACE.
Tell us who you are, what you're working on, and what you'd like to do at NOO.
We'll figure out the rest.
-
Probably not.
We’re pretty serious about being a space where people can show up as themselves, but “the Empire” is not really our vibe. NOO is explicitly anti-racist, anti-authoritarian, pro-liberation, and committed to keeping our space safe and welcoming for marginalized people.
So if your group is actually about defending fascism, white supremacy, political violence, or making other people’s lives worse, we’re going to pass.
If you’re just a bunch of Star Wars nerds with a sense of humor? Come on in. We have snacks.
-
We're unapologetically anti-capitalist, and we don't believe in profiting off community. At the same time, we live in the world we live in. NOO has rent, utilities, equipment, supplies, maintenance, and a whole lot of invisible work behind it, and we're a working-class family trying to keep this place alive.
Your membership helps cover those costs and keeps NOO accessible to people and organizations with less financial capacity. When there's anything left over, we put it back into the community through programming, mutual aid, sliding scale and work trade access, and keeping the space available for people who need it.
You're not just paying to use the room. You're helping keep the room here.
-
NOO can accommodate up to about 25 people for a mingling-style event, though the comfortable capacity is lower for seated gatherings, workshops, meals, or anything that needs tables and room to move.
If you're planning something larger, talk to us. Indoor/outdoor events have a much larger capacity. We'll figure out what works best for the space and your event.
-
Organization Memberships are for nonprofits, activist groups, mutual-aid projects, creative collectives, neighborhood organizations, community groups, and other organizations doing community-rooted work. You don't need to be a 501(c)(3), and you don't need a formal organizational structure or a big budget. If you're doing good work and looking for a place to do it, talk to us.
-
Yep. The people actively involved with your organization get the full benefits of NOO Community Membership, including coworking and open-lounge access 7 days a week outside scheduled events and access to NOO community programming. Your organization gets a relationship with the space, and your people get to become part of the larger NOO community.
-
We're intentionally keeping this flexible. We're talking about the people who are actively involved with your organization, collective, or project, not everyone who has ever attended an event or signed up for your mailing list. We're trusting organizations to use their membership reasonably and in the spirit it's intended.
-
Pretty much anything that makes sense for your organization and the space. Meetings, planning sessions, workshops, trainings, community dinners, potlucks, skill shares, art nights, organizing meetings, volunteer gatherings, fundraisers, and more are all welcome. If you're not sure whether something will work in the space, just ask. We'd rather figure it out with you than make you decode a giant rulebook.
-
Absolutely. Organization Membership is designed to support both the behind-the-scenes work of organizing and the public-facing work that brings people together. If you're planning a public event, we'll work with you on scheduling, capacity, setup, cleanup, promotion, and any additional rental time you need.
-
No problem. Organization Members receive discounted rates on additional NOO rentals, and we're happy to work with you on recurring events or programming whenever it makes sense. Your membership is meant to create an ongoing relationship with the space so we are happy to flex to accommodate whenever we can.
-
Not generally. The included hours are designed to give your organization a regular rhythm at NOO rather than becoming a bank of unused rental hours. If something unusual comes up and you need to move your monthly gathering, though, talk to us. We're human, and we'll work with you when we can.
-
Absolutely. Community dinners, potlucks, snacks, and shared meals are very much part of what NOO is for. The space has a mini fridge but does not have a full kitchen, so food preparation is limited. We'll work with you on what makes sense for your event.
-
NOO can accommodate limited beer and wine service for appropriate private or gallery-style events, but we do not have a liquor license and do not allow liquor service. We'll go over the specifics when you book.
-
Organization Members receive priority booking over outside events, but NOO is a small community space with a limited calendar. For recurring events, the earlier we can plan, the better. To get a sense of our general programming and availability, check out our Google calendar link on our Events page.

Talk to us. Please.
We created the Grassroots tier specifically to make Organization Membership accessible to small and volunteer-run groups, but we know that even $95 can be a lot when you're operating on donated labor and a shoestring budget. We'd rather have a conversation and find something sustainable than have money be the reason good work can't happen here.
